The new Opel Astra has a wider track with improved stability, safety and road-worthiness. The entire chassis has been redesigned and improved. The Compound Crank with Watt's link rear suspension delivers improved lateral control and stability - which simply put, makes driving more fun and safer.

New Opel Astra ecoFLEX

Lean and clean powertrains.

The new Astra engines prove that it is possible to balance lively performance with fuel efficiency and low emissions. Leading edge technology, leaner, greener, and packing more fun, the new Opel Astra ECOTEC® engines deliver increased performance and remarkably low fuel consumption in the compact class. The powertrain line-up features four gasonline and four diesel engines ranging from 70 kW/95 hp to 132 kW/180 hp. All engines meet the Euro 5 emission standards. A first ecoFLEX generation with CO2 emissions of only 109 g/km and an average fuel consumption of only 4.2 l/100 km will be added to the range in spring 2010.
